The Parallel Gospels of Christ

Ron Coale

Rev. Ron Coale, Pastor

The Parallel Gospels gives a four sided view of the Lord Jesus Christ’s life. Each view is revealed in the writings of the four different gospel authors. Each contains subtle nuances when recording the same accounts.

  • Matthew sees Jesus as the King.
  • Mark sees Jesus as the servant.
  • Luke sees Jesus as a man.
  • John sees Jesus as God.

Anything can be better understood when looked at it from different perspectives. So can the life of Jesus Christ. God knows this.  That is why He commissioned four different accounts of Jesus’ life.

In addition showing the accounts in parallel, all gospels are arranged in chronological order as well.

I assembled a book years ago showing the gospels in parallel as well as chronological order.  I called it The Parallel Gospels.  It has been a great study tool for me. I refer to it whenever I need to see what the other gospels writers said about a subject. It helps me to get a more rounded view of what really happened.

Because I have all too often been asked, “Where can I get a copy of this book?”, I have finally published it on Kindle.  You can now purchase it there.

As it is for me, I am sure The Parallel Gospels will be a valuable tool for you in your study of the Life of Jesus Christ.  I hope that it gives you many years of help in your study.  I know it will be a blessing to you.

Give it all you’ve Got

There are things that are important to us in life, but nothing is more important than the soul of a person.  The soul is the part of man that lives forever.  It is the part of man that feels pain or joy; happiness or sorrow.  It is the center of the man.

Proverbs 11:30 says, “He that winneth souls is wise.”  It is a wise and profitable thing to be a soul winner because it pleases God.  He has a high evaluation of the soul winner.  It is one of the dearest things to the heart of God. Consequently, it pays enormous eternal dividends. A man who turns people to righteousness is wise because he is laying up treasure in heaven.  Conversely, a Christian who is occupied with trivial matters of life is unwise. Majoring on minors is foolish. Therefore, not to win souls is to be guilty of the sin of folly.

If we are to be wise, we should actively be involved in soul winning of some kind.  If we don’t know how to win a soul to the Lord, we should learn how to do so.

When is the last time you led someone to the Lord?  Have you ever won someone to the Lord?  There is no shortage of people that need to hear the gospel.  They are wondering aimlessly through life, believing a lie that is leading them to hell.

There is however, a shortage of Christians who are willing to tell the lost about salvation.  There should not be, but there is.  We need to be not so.  Mason County is in great need for the Lord Jesus Christ—and who will tell our neighbors?  The Devil will have them hear all of his doctrine, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by every means possible.  The Lord left the job of spreading the gospel up to us.

Spreading the gospel is not doing good deeds for others.  It is not living a right life or even helping the poor.  Spreading the gospel is to actively tell people how they can be saved; how they can know for sure they are going to heaven.

These are the last days that we are living in.  We live in a unique time.  No other people have had so much at stake as we have.  We are like the anchor runner in the relay race of life.  Lets not drop the baton.  Lets not run out of steam on the last lap.  Lets give it all we have Got.  Souls lie in the balance.
